About 75,000 computers worldwide, including those in Vietnam, are infected with ransomware, causing serious damage to many companies and organizations.
Security company Avast said the blackmailing extortion called WannaCry is spreading all over the world, including Britain, the US, China, Russia, Taiwan or Vietnam ... Thousands of computers have been locked and claiming $ 300 Ransom through Bitcoin.

Notably, the malicious code mentioned above and its variants exploit a vulnerability in the Windows operating system that the US National Security Agency (NSA) holds. Cybercriminals have used the very tools of the NSA to spread ransomware.
When infected with WannaCry, users will find it hard to detect until it sends a message telling you that the computer is locked, all files are encrypted. You can only recover data if you pay $ 300 for the attacker, paying through virtual Bitcoin.

After 3 days but not done, the ransom will double and expire 7 days but not paid, the user data will be lost. Malicious code records payment information, counts down time and is expressed in multiple languages.

The "victim" highlighted in the attack was the NHS. According to staff here, some hospital operations and doctor appointments were canceled. "The patients will surely be affected."

Some reports say that Russia is the most infected country. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has "scoured the virus" after "a series of Windows-based PCs were hacked".

It has been reported that the German railway ticket system and some computer laboratories in Italian universities are also affected. Some Spanish companies, including Telefonica, Iberdrola, the Natural gas supplier, are in the "outbreak".

According to the THN, to protect yourself against WannaCry, users need to update the latest Windows patches. Do not open emails containing suspicious documents, do not click on unknown links. Always back up important information with external storage and do not forget to install good antivirus software.
